Elliott’s Journey and Self-Discovery
The next day, Elliott remains in contact with Older Elliott through text messages. She spends more time with her younger siblings and unexpectedly meets Chad while swimming in the lake. Initially, she keeps her distance due to Older Elliott’s warning but slowly finds herself drawn to him.

Later, Elliott and Chad go for another boat ride, but the motor fails during a storm. They find shelter in a lookout shack, where Elliott learns Chad already attends her university. She finally admits her feelings for him and they share an intimate moment.

After walking her home, Chad returns to give Elliott her shirt and unexpectedly sees Older Elliott. The older version hugs Chad tearfully, revealing the real reason behind her initial warning—Chad will die in the near future, and she wanted to spare Elliott the pain.
