Plot Summary
A Village Under Dictatorship
Newlywed police officer Deepak Pradhan is transferred to Dharmapur, a remote village in North Bengal, for election duty. Upon arrival, he discovers that Jatileshwar Mukherjee has been ruling the village for fifteen years. He wins elections unopposed by using fear and coercion. Deepak's mission is to conduct free and fair elections, a task that seems nearly impossible.

Deepak soon realizes that every institution in the village, including the school and police station, is controlled by Jatileshwar. Even the local officers work for him. The villagers live in fear, unable to voice their concerns.
