Plot Summary

Officer Shivam and his team go undercover as smugglers to infiltrate the coastal villages near the Ratnagiri mountains on the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border. Twelve years prior, the villagers, once warriors defending the seas, had turned to smuggling under Devara's leadership. After a failed assassination attempt, Devara disappears, leaving a message warning against smuggling. His son, Vara, grows up perceived as timid, believing his father abandoned them. The film was officially announced in April 2021 under the tentative title "NTR30," marking N. T. Rama Rao Jr.'s 30th film as a lead actor. The official title, "Devara," was revealed in May 2023. Later that year, the decision was made to split the narrative into two parts. Principal photography commenced in April 2023 and concluded in August 2024, with filming locations including Hyderabad, Shamshabad, Visakhapatnam, Goa, and Thailand. The cinematography was handled by R. Rathnavelu, while A. Sreekar Prasad took charge of editing.
